متن کاملBayesian versus maximum likelihood estimation of treatment effects in bivariate probit instrumental variable models
Bivariate probit models are a common choice for scholars wishing to estimate causal effects in instrumental variable models where both the treatment and outcome are binary. However, standard maximum likelihood approaches for estimating bivariate probit models are problematic. Numerical routines in popular software suites frequently generate inaccurate parameter estimates, and even estimated cor...

Submitted for the MAR13 Meeting of The American Physical Society Electron transport in graphene monolayers1 JUN-QIANG LIU, DANIEL VALENCIA, University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez — We demonstrate electronic transmission of a monolayer can be reduced when covered by a nanoribbon. The transmission reduction occurs at different energies determined by the width of the nanoribbon. We explain the tran...
متن کاملSpirometric nomograms for normal children and adolescents in Puerto Rico.
OBJECTIVE The use of spirometric reference values specific to the population being tested is preferable. A study carried out in Puerto Rico is used here to develop nomograms for normal children and adolescents based on age and height, two variables that have been found to be good predictors of pulmonary function. MATERIAL AND METHODS The data for healthy individuals aged 5 to 18 were extracte...
